CLASSIFICATION FCI:Group 9 companion dogs. Section 11 Small dog-like dogs. Without a working test.
GENERAL APPEARANCE:
The Boston Terrier is a lively, highly intelligent, short-haired dog of well-balanced overall appearance with a short head, compact body and short tail. He is brindle, black or "seal" (ie black with a reddish glow, but only in the sun or in bright light can be seen), each with a uniform white pattern. The head is in good proportion to the overall size of the dog, and its expression indicates a high degree of intelligence. The body is quite short and tight, the limbs are strong and well-formed, the tail is short. No feature is so pronounced that the dog appears poorly proportioned. The dog gives the impression of determination, strength and activity with a lot of elegance; his attitude is light and graceful. The harmonious combination of color and white drawing is a particularly characteristic feature of an exemplary breed representative. The characteristics of balance, expression, color and white color should be given special consideration when evaluating the overall appearance of the item. The clearly defined, short body, combined with the unique characteristic of the square head and foresight and the impressive color drawing have shaped a particularly nice, charming creature of American origin: the Boston Terrier. In comparison of representatives of both sexes, the only recognizable difference is the slightly more delicate physique in the bitch.
IMPORTANT PROPORTIONS:
The height of the runs must be in proportion to the hull length to give the Boston Terrier its impressive, square appearance. The Boston Terrier is a strong dog that is neither spiky nor rough. His bones and his musculature must be in good proportion to the weight and the building of the dog and contribute to their desired expression.
BEHAVIOR / TEMPERAMENT:
The Boston Terrier is a friendly, lively dog. The breed is superbly gifted and of high intelligence, making the Boston Terrier a unique companion dog.

Desired drawing: White markings around the catch, uniform white blaze between the eyes and above the head, white around the neck and on the front breast, forelimbs partly or wholly white, hindlegs white below the hocks.
